About me

Being a native of the Pacific Northwest I have enjoyed the many outdoor pursuits it has to offer. My boating experience started fishing with my Dad off the Washington coast, Straight of Juan De Fuca, and Puget Sound in a 18' foot plywood boat he made! It had the memorable name “Fickle Finger of Fate”. My enjoyment of being on the water grew to include recreational boating with my wife and two daughters. We loved spending weeks at a time exploring the Puget Sound, and San Juan Islands.

In 2018 I earned my 50 Ton Master license from the Coast Guard. Since then I have worked as a Tow Boat US Captain and a training Captain for Freedom Boat Club. I have also provided private lessons, yacht deliveries and have worked as “Bareboat Charter” captain for private boat owners and Yacht Charter brokerages.

After retiring in 2023 from a 35 year career in the Fire Service, I decided to pursue another dream job; private yacht Captain.

Currently my wife and I have an American Tug (Knot On Duty) that we use to explore waters from South Puget Sound to the Broughton Islands.

I truly enjoy being on the water and look forward to sharing the experience with you.
